Manus
Manus by Manus: what it does, how it works, pricing and adoption — sourced and dated.
General-purpose agents Closed product
Manus is a general-purpose cloud agent: give it a goal and it researches, analyses data, builds spreadsheets and slides, and — since the 1.5 release — generates full web applications with backend and database. It launched in March 2025 to heavy demand and waitlists. Meta's roughly $2B acquisition was blocked in April 2026 and Manus returned to independent operation later that year.
How it works
Runs tasks in Manus's managed cloud sandbox and delivers finished artifacts — reports, spreadsheets, slides, working web apps. Wide Research fans a question out to many parallel sub-agents. You review outputs; Manus does the browsing, code execution and file work in between.
