Upcoming in AI

What is actually coming.

Everything the AI industry has actually said is coming — labelled by how solid it is. 37 tracked · 20 announced · 3 teased · 9 reported · 5 frontiers in progress · data checked Oct 14, 2026.

How to read the labels

  • Announced — the company itself has said it: announcement, official blog, exec on the record, filing, or published roadmap. A date may still slip, but the item is real.
  • Teased — the company confirms it exists or is being worked on, but has given no firm window.
  • Reported — reputable outlets report it from named or filing-based sourcing; the company has not confirmed it.
  • In progress — research frontiers: real, sourced work with no ship date by nature.
  • Cancelled — was planned, now is not. Kept on the record with its source; never silently deleted.
  • Rumour — leaks and aggregator claims. Never in the timeline: quarantined in the Rumour Corner.
