Our review
Beautifully designed on a modest budget, this is melancholy sci-fi about a man who cannot accept an ending. Its strongest idea is the discarded prototypes: earlier, childlike machines who understand enough to feel jealousy and abandonment, which makes the hero's quest look increasingly cruel rather than romantic. The twist-driven ending will divide viewers, but the questions underneath — is a copied mind the person, and who owns the failures along the way? — are real. For thoughtful, slow-burn fans.
Entertainment 6/10 — Atmospheric and sad, though pacing and the final twist won't suit everyone.
AI Realism 5/10 — Iterative prototyping rings true; whole-mind transfer from stored memories remains speculative.
The AI, explained
The discarded prototypes are the point: earlier, childlike machines who understand enough to feel jealousy and abandonment, treated as stepping-stones to a finished product. Archive asks who owns the failures on the way to a copied mind — and whether a copy is the person at all.
