Our review
Bigger than the original in every way, yet its heart is a boy teaching a captured machine why humans cry. The T-800's reprogramming flips the first film's nightmare into a companionship story without softening the stakes: Skynet's birth is a human research decision, shown step by step. The T-1000 remains a perfect, wordless embodiment of technology outrunning its predecessor. Some sentiment is laid on thick, but the action staging is flawless. Watch it as the blockbuster standard for sequels.
Entertainment 10/10 — Landmark action filmmaking with a genuine emotional core; the sequel by which others are judged.
AI Realism 5/10 — The Cyberdyne development chain is thoughtful, but a learning, bonding T-800 and liquid-metal physics are fantasy.
The AI, explained
T2 flips the first film: the same machine, reprogrammed and bonded to a child, becomes protective — behaviour follows programming and experience. And Skynet's birth is shown as a chain of ordinary human engineering decisions, not a single mad-scientist moment.
