Our review
Gorgeous, sincere and frustratingly shallow — a film that looks like a masterpiece and argues like a pamphlet. Edwards shoots robots, monks and farmland into one believable world, and Alphie makes the moral question physical: could you shoot something that cries? Yet the AI society itself is barely explored; the machines exist mainly to test human conscience. Watch it for world-building and feeling, not analysis. Best for visual sci-fi lovers who accept sentiment over systems.
Entertainment 7/10 — Stunning scale and emotion, thin character work.
AI Realism 4/10 — Its AI civilisation is asserted rather than explained; the politics of scapegoating feel more realistic than the technology.
The AI, explained
The Creator is less about how AI works than about how societies treat it: a disaster blamed on machines becomes a licence for extermination, and the "weapon" is a child. Its politics of scapegoating are more realistic than its technology.
