Cursor
Cursor by Anysphere: what it does, how it works, pricing and adoption — sourced and dated.
Coding agents Closed product
Cursor is Anysphere's AI code editor: a VS Code-derived IDE where agent mode, background agents and best-in-class tab completion sit on top of a multi-model catalog. It is the in-the-loop end of the coding-agent spectrum — you stay in the editor while the agent works — though its newer Projects feature delegates whole tasks to coordinating agents.
How it works
Editor-first rather than delegation-first: Cursor's agent mode takes multi-file tasks inside the IDE while you watch, and its background/Projects agents can run delegated work with sub-agents. Inline completion remains the core loop.
